L.A. Dance Project seeks an experienced NYC-based Lighting Director to join the company for an upcoming engagement in the city. The ideal candidate will collaborate with L.A. Dance Project’s Director of Production on a complex, large-scale production, which has already been presented in both domestic and international settings. They will have a strong background in lighting design and technical implementation of existing designs in dance, theater and/or opera, and will be a skilled multi-tasker. They will be a clear and effective communicator with strong time management and documentation skills.
Dates of the engagement are Feburary 18 - March 24.

Day-to-day:
Contribute to all in-theater rehearsals and technical rehearsals.
Serve as associate / support to Lighting and Scenic Designer.
Serve as a roaming/secondary LD.
With Stage Management, track and document all lighting cues.
Update existing repertory lighting paperwork to document any and all changes.
In tandem with, and instructing local crew, manage and maintain all production lighting elements.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a lighting director / designer.
Proficiency in VectorWorks, AutoCAD and Lightwright.
Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Must be able to use and communicate via a ClearCom (or similar) headset and microphone.
Touring rate for the Lighting Director position is $1500.00 per week.
