DESCRIPTION

SHUCKED is the Tony Award®-winning musical comedy The Wall Street Journal calls “flat out hilarious!” Featuring a book by Tony Award winner Robert Horn (Tootsie), a score by the Grammy® Award-winning songwriting team of Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally, and directed by Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien (Hairspray), this corn-fed, corn-bred American musical will embark on its first-class National Tour this Fall.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Assistant Electrician/ Lead Followspot position is a full-time touring position that will assist the Electrics Head to consistently run, move, and maintain all lighting elements associated with the Shucked First National Tour.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Working with the Electrics team to safely run the Lead Followspot track including lighting checkout, pre-set, and all cues during the performance.

- Working with the Electrics team to maintain and repair all show equipment to the highest standards.

- Working with the Head Electrician to manage and clearly communicate with the local union electrics crew at each show stop.

- Working with the Electrics team to pack, load out, travel, load in and tech all electrics between tour stops.

- Regular participation in work calls, and rehearsal as directed by stage management and head carpenter.

- Arrival on time and ready for work at the start of each call.

- Running a Followspot and calling cues to local operators.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS

- General knowledge of moving light troubleshooting.

- General knowledge of lighting networking.

- Detail-oriented, willing to complete both complex and menial repetitive tasks with exacting precision.

- Team player, able to work long hours in very close quarters with many different types of passionate personalities.

- Strong ability to lead and instruct a crew of up to a dozen people, with varying skill levels.

- Technical Theatre experience, specifically national touring experience.

- Willing to work an 8-show a week schedule. Often called in for rehearsals outside of the show schedule.

- Must be able to work around loud sounds and flashing lights.

- Willingness to work in dark often cramped/ closed spaces.

- Able to physically lift 75 pounds, comfortable lifting and walking backwards, comfortable walking up and down stairs.

- Excellent practical, problem-solving, organizational, planning and time management skills.

- Must have excellent Emotional Intelligence (self-awareness, motivation, social, empathy, and self-regulation skills).

SALARY: Base Weekly Salary: $1,800 + All Applicable Overtime Per S.E.T. Pink Contract

BENEFITS: Per IATSE S.E.T. Pink Contract

TRAVEL & HOUSING: Per IATSE S.E.T. Pink Contract

START DATE: January 2026
