“I Love Pasta” A New Play. A dramedy about smiling depression. Looking for dynamic actors with good comedic instinct to fill in these new characters and bring them to life.

PERFORMANCE:

Our first reading will be Thursday December 5th at 2pm in Manhattan. Future workshopping and performance dates to be announced.

SYNOPSIS

A dramedy revolving around the life of “Daisy” and her best friend “Elie”. Main themes of the play include smiling depression and accepting of queer identity.

ROLES:

ELLIE: (Ethnicity any, she/her or she/they, 21-30) Daisy’s best friend. She is slightly more timid than Daisy, hard working, fun loving. All submissions must have strong dramatic monologues too submit.

EMMANUEL: (Latino x, he/him, 21-30) Good natured, charming.

CLAIRE: (Ethnicity any, she/her, 40-55) Claire is Daisy’s mother. Strict. Conservative.

MANAGER: (Ethnicity any, she/her, any age) A force to be reckoned with— seemingly innately nasty.

ENSEMBLE ROLES: BARTENDER/ PEDESTRIAN/ CUTE GIRL/ COWORKER/CUSTOMER #1 CUSTOMER #2 (Ethnicity any, age any) looking for readers for these roles to also double as understudies for main characters.
