About the Project
Nihao Broadway! is a musical theatre showcase featuring Chinese performers based in the United States. Selected performers will rehearse and perform in a curated showcase in New York City, presenting both English and Chinese repertoire.
Nihao Broadway! 是一个为在美国发展的中国音乐剧演员打造的舞台展示平台。入选演员将在纽约参与排练，并登台呈现一场精选中英文音乐剧作品音乐会。
Creative Team
Mijiang “M-Jay” He – Artistic Director
Mijiang “M-Jay” He is a New York–based theatre director, choreographer, and performer working across musical theatre and international collaborations. His work bridges Chinese and American theatre communities through stage productions, musical theatre development, and cross-cultural performance initiatives.
Theatrical credits include: CATS (China Tour), A Christmas Story (U.S. Tour), Miss Saigon, Kinky Boots, Billy Elliot, Mamma Mia!, and Anything Goes.
He is the founder of CurtainRise International and the creator of Nihao Broadway, a platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of Chinese musical theatre performers in New York City.
Andrew Smithson – Music Director
Andrew Smithson is a veteran music director and vocal coach with decades of experience in musical theatre. His credits include national tours such as A Christmas Story, Aida, Legally Blonde, Gypsy, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He has served as music director for numerous regional productions, including A Chorus Line, Once on This Island, and The Producers.
Mengmeng Zhang – Program Coordinator
Mengmeng Zhang is a New York–based musical theatre performer and songwriter.

• Three song selections (2 English musical theatre songs + 1 Chinese song, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Hokkien)
• A short singing video or vocal reel
Applicants will also be asked to provide additional information in the form.
