Job Description
The Public is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative associate to join its Marketing and Communications teams to support the institution’s sales, public relations, and promotional efforts.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role will be responsible for a variety of daily administrative tasks, supporting the Marketing, Digital/Social, and PR teams.

Responsibilities:

Administrative

  • Manage departmental invoice processing, AMEX reporting, and expense tracking in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Director of Communications.
  • Proofread and copy-edit materials including but not limited to e-blasts, programs, and press releases.
  • Support on marketing and communications ticketing requests, including but not limited to booking tickets, sending confirmations, and tracking voucher requests.
  • Assist with events and special departmental projects, including those that may occur outside of regular business hours, i.e., photo shoots, video shoots, and opening night events.
  • Assist with general administration including archiving, ordering office supplies, and other key tasks.
  • Additional duties as assigned

E-mail Marketing, Website, and Influencers

  • Manage automated marketing emails, including pre- and post-show email series and related audience surveys.
  • Partner with Marketing Managers and outside promotional partners to schedule e-mail inclusions.
  • Oversee general website maintenance and updates including editing, posting content, and updating the Press Room.
  • Manage the content for and creation of the bi-weekly newsletter, Team Public.
  • Conduct influencer research and maintain database.

Requirements:
  • One (1) year of related experience
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities
  • Must be available for evening and weekend hours on an as-needed basis
  • Ability to approach problem-solving collaboratively
  • Collaboration with staff in working towards creating an anti-racist culture and participating in The Public’s long term cultural transformation process
  • Skilled with MS Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • General interest in arts and culture a plus
  • Knowledge of AP Style, Tessitura, Slack, and Asana a plus


Compensation & Benefits
This is a non-exempt full-time position, according to the Fair Labor Standards Act with an hourly rate of $27.88, which is annualized at $58,000. The OT rate is $41.82.

The Public Theater supports flexible and hybrid work arrangements, and the MarComms team is generally in the office Tuesday-Thursday.

This position is available immediately.

SALARY
