Founded in 1985 by Board Chair Hon. John V. Lindsay, Executive Producer Bernard Gersten and Director Gregory Mosher, and led for 33 years by André Bishop, LCT is one of the leading nonprofit theaters in the country, producing an annual season of plays and musicals that have been seen by millions around the globe. It is one of 11 autonomous constituents of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Each year, the three theaters that make up LCT welcome nearly 300,000 audience members to its home on the Lincoln Center campus.

Over the last 40 years, LCT and its outstanding productions have received many of the highest accolades, including 87 Tony Awards®, 97 Drama Desk Awards, 79 Outer Critics Circle Awards, 33 Obies, 11 NY Drama Critics Circle Awards, and one Pulitzer Prize, as well as two finalists.

Position Summary:

The Development Associate, Individual Giving is a key member of the development team focusing on individual giving programs for donors at the $25,000 level and below. Customer service is a key aspect of this role, which reports directly to the Director of Individual Giving and is a member of a 15-person team raising $17M annually and growing. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support LCT’s Patron Program (Gifts between $2,000 and $25,000) and LCT Angels Program (donors aged 40 and under)
  • Serve as the primary customer service representative by phone and email for Patrons, Friends, and Angels, including benefit fulfillment, program inquiries, house seat and event reservations, and confirmations.
  • Assist with renewal process and acquisition campaigns.
  • Enter gifts and record moves management steps in database.
  • Process acknowledgement letters and make personal acknowledgement calls.
  • Research prospects and prepare donor profiles as needed.
  • Send program welcome emails to new and recovered donors.
  • Support preparation and execution of logistics for attendance at events.
  • Review and maintain Playbill listings for donors.
  • Draft copy for program acquisition mailings, emails, and social media posts as needed.
  • Support Director of Individual Giving and Director of Development as needed.
  • Maintain a small portfolio of patrons for individual gift solicitations and growth.
  • Support LCT’s Friends Program & Small Gifts Campaigns (Gifts below $1,000).
  • Assist with bi-annual email and direct mail campaigns.
  • Process acknowledgement letters.
  • Manage benefit fulfillment.
  • Manage gift entry.
  • Work closely with Development Operations team to ensure proper data hygiene for individual giving.
  • Support and attend Development events as needed, both during and after office hours, including occasionally greeting donors at the theater.
  • Additional support for the Development Department as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a passion for theater.
  • Prior individual giving experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent telephone, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Comfort and experience with spreadsheets and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be service- and team-oriented, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
  • Knowledge of Tessitura or other CRM databases preferred.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends required.

Compensation:

This is a full-time, temporary, exempt, and salaried position with a salary range of $60,000-$64,000. Lincoln Center Theater provides comprehensive benefits including Paid Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance and Paid Time Off.
