About the Organization
For more than fifty years T. Schreiber Studio for Theatre and Film has been among the pre-eminent acting communities in NYC. The studio fosters actors and working professionals at all stages of development. We offer professional acting classes, immersive acting programs, and private coaching in theatre and film, led by award-winning master teachers. We produce theatre, from published plays and new works, giving our studio actors and professionals from the NYC acting community an opportunity to create and perform.
Position Summary
The Managing Director is the chief administrative and operational leader of the organization, responsible for translating the mission into sustainable programs and operations. Working closely with the Artistic Director and the Board of Directors, the Managing Director oversees finances, operations, and organizational strategy while supporting artistic and community goals. This role is ideal for a collaborative entrepreneurial leader who is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small nonprofit environment.
Qualifications
● Passion for theatre and film and commitment to the organization’s mission
● 3 years’ experience in an administrative role in a non-profit environment or equivalent
leadership experience
● Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
● Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
● Community-centered approach
● Practical hands-on, and solutions-oriented approach
Key Responsibilities
● Serve as a key partner to the Artistic Director and Board of Directors in setting and fulfilling strategic goals
● Work one-on-one with the Artistic Director in strategic planning
● Lead day-to-day operations of the organization and manage small staff
● Cultivate relationships with the students to build unique programs
● Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Artistic Director and Board
● Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial health
● Oversee organizational systems, policies, and procedures
● In conjunction with the Artistic Director, oversee marketing and community development
● Support the teachers in their efforts to create and maintain positive learning environments for students
● Support the planning and production of workshop performances at the studio and the
Schreiber Shorts
