DESCRIPTION

Technical Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead and supervise all technical departments, including lighting, sound, video, automation, special effects, and stage operations

  • Serve as the senior technical authority for the production, advising producers and creatives on technical feasibility and best practices

  • Maintain technical consistency and quality across all performances

Show Systems & Execution

  • Oversee all technical systems used in the show, including show control, cueing systems, and automation

  • Ensure all cues, transitions, and technical elements are executed accurately and safely

  • Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation, schematics, and system workflows

Magic, Illusions & Specialty Effects

  • Oversee installation, operation, and maintenance of magic apparatus, illusions, and specialty effects

  • Ensure confidentiality, safety, and proper handling of all illusion-based systems

  • Coordinate with illusion designers, performers, and technicians to preserve artistic integrity

Maintenance, Safety & Compliance

  • Establish and enforce preventative maintenance schedules for all technical equipment

  • Ensure compliance with NYC safety regulations and venue requirements

  • Identify and mitigate technical risks and safety concerns

Staffing & Management

  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise technical staff and operators

  • Mentor junior technical team members and department heads

  • Coordinate with the Company Manager and Stage Management team on staffing and scheduling needs

Budgeting & Vendor Relations

  • Assist producers with technical budgeting, purchasing, and cost tracking

  • Liaise with vendors, rental houses, and service providers

  • Evaluate equipment needs and recommend upgrades or replacements


Special Events & Future Planning

  • Support press events, special performances, and production changes

  • Lead technical planning for remounts, tours, or future expansions of the production

  • Provide long-term technical strategy and infrastructure planning
