House Technician - Job Description
Classification // Part-time, Non-exempt
Reports to // Senior Venue Manager
Location and Schedule // New York, NY; this is an in-person role. On site at 502 53rd St.,
10019; schedules varies based on rentals, Monday-Friday Evenings, Weekends and occasional
Monday-Wednesday 9:00AM-5:00PM, 4 Hours (minimum). $32/hr.

Key Responsibilities:

Helping Renters:
● Provide access to the theatre and supervise the renter’s activities including load in/out,
tech, and performances
● Assist renter’s personnel with troubleshooting issues that arise on a day-to-day basis
● Prepare spaces for activities as directed by A.R.T./New York Staff
● Facilitate access to A.R.T./New York’s equipment inventory
● Ensure that renter’s personnel follows A.R.T./New York policies and safety protocols
● Providing ALDs to audience members.

Daily Tasks:
● Prepare a report at the end of each shift.
● Open the building at the start of the day and coordinate with the Front-of-House
Manager to secure the building following the conclusion of all activities.
● Informing Senior Venue Manager when there is an issue needing immediate attention.
● Communicating with renters.

Yearly Maintenance:
● Assist Theatres staff with equipment inventory and maintenance.
