Class/Salary – Union IATSE salary $50,000 + Overtime

Pension and health through IATSE Local 412

General Summary: Asolo Rep (LORT B) Florida’s premier professional theatre and one of the

most important cultural forces in the Southeastern US is seeking to fill its Audio Engineer/ Audio 1 Position primarily responsible for the live mixing of both large scale musicals and more intimate plays under the direction of Sound Department Head. This is a full-time staff position which requires a candidate to be a resident of the community, modest relocation available. This position is under an IATSE 412 contract. Though union membership is not required.

Essential Job Functions:

· Serve as the main sound board operator during rehearsals and performances

· Mix live audio for performances, balancing levels, and ensuring clarity and consistency adjusting audio settings in real-time to accommodate changes in the performance environment

· Work closely with the Sound Designer, Directors, and other production staff to implement and adjust sound designs.

· Programming the sound board (DM7) for rehearsals and performances, ensuring accurate execution of sound cues.

· Creating mix scripts for each production

· Testing and troubleshooting the sound system prior to each show.

· Changer over/setup of sound equipment, and cue lights for each show assigned in the Rep.

·Assisting Sound Engineer in load-ins and strike.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Understanding of mixing and show control playback.

· Set-up and usage of wireless microphones, Avioms, and video playback and display.

· Familiarity with the equipment currently used within the field

· Basic knowledge of electronics and trouble-shooting techniques.

· Design work on smaller shows

· Hours vary with the production calendar and show assignments. Work shifts include afternoon and evening hours, weekend hours, and overtime.
