FRIGID New York is seeking theater professionals to work Front of House shifts during the New York City Fringe Festival! The festival runs from April 1st through the 19th and will require good availability during that time. Shifts will be on weekday evenings and weekend days and evenings. You will be working across 5 venues on the Lower East Side, Midtown, and Dumbo.

During your shifts you will be the face of the festival to audiences as well as the main line of communication between Artists and the festival. You will also be a key part to our fundraising and information drive during the festival, through curtain speeches, where you will ask the audience to "tip the fest" and give money at the end of each show.

Responsibilities include

Perform pre-show and post-show curtain speeches covering safety and festival information as well as fundraising asks.

Keep front of house spaces clean and tidy--throw away trash, sweep lobby and audience area.

Greet audiences, check in reservations.

Process cash and credit card sales at the door using our POS system (Red61 and Square on an ipad).

Liaise with artists regarding complimentary tickets and other show-specific needs.

Keep a detailed record of all sales and comps.

Make sure shows begin on time.

Alert festival organizers of any issues.

Work closely with festival volunteers.

Requirements

Comfortable speaking in front of an audience and asking for money.

Experience handling money.

Experience in front of house or similar customer service work.

Fire Guard certification--if you are not certified, Frigid will reimburse the cost of certification

compensation: $18/hr (around 20-30 hrs per week)
