Audience Services Associate (Part-Time)
Reporting to the Box Office & Audience Services Supervisor, the Audience Services Associate plays a key role in executing box office and front of house functions and contributes light support to the Marketing and Development Departments. This is a temporary, part-time position with shifts to take place between early March and May 2026.

In addition to producing Off-Broadway productions, the organization champions original works through its New Group/New Works play and musical development program. The New Group also operates an acting conservatory and a tuition-free college access program.
Primary Responsibilities of the Audience Services Associate include:
● Non-performance duties will include:
○ Provide engaged customer service by phone, email, and in-person, demonstrating knowledge of The New Group’s current productions and programs.
○ Process single ticket sales, membership orders, donations, and exchanges in Spektrix with accuracy and attention to detail.
○ Assist with sales for special events and benefits sold through Spektrix.
○ Maintain up-to-date and accurate customer data in Spektrix.
● Performance duties will include:
○ Print, prepare, and distribute tickets; distribute access materials such as assistive listening devices; and deliver VIP notes.
○ Process sales at the theater box office (tickets & merchandise).
○ Process third party sales and lists received by email.
○ Set up signage; facilitate audience entry and egress; scan tickets; distribute programs; greet and seat latecomers; and monitor the house.
○ Provide on-site coverage for special events including talkbacks and open-captioned performances .
○ Assume supervisory oversight of front of house functions for select performances in absence of Box Office & Audience Services Supervisor.
● Understand and adhere to The New Group’s policies and procedures.
● Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Outstanding customer service skills and friendly demeanor on the phone & in person.
● Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and steady judgment in time-sensitive situations.
● Superb attention to detail and the ability to organize and complete tasks between interruptions.
● Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a clear, professional and patient manner.
● Previous experience in ticket sales (specific experience with Spektrix a plus, but not required).
● Previous experience with front of house.
● Maintain current Certificate of Fitness (F-03) Indoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel Certification with the FDNY, enforce safety procedures, and keep required safety logs.
● Ability to frequently move throughout the premises, including navigating multiple levels, to provide an attentive presence. Must be able to safely and periodically lift and transport items weighing up to 30 lbs for set-up and preparation duties.

The rate of pay for the Audience Services Associate is $22.00/hour. This is a temporary, part-time, hourly position with some night & weekend availability required. Audience Services Associates generally work between two and three shifts per week, depending on availability, during production.
● The New Group Box Office is open 1 PM to 5 PM Tuesday - Thursday.
● Performances are generally scheduled in the evenings Tuesday - Sunday with additional matinee performances on Saturdays, with some exceptions.
● All Audience Services shifts take place on-site at the Theater at St. Clement’s.
