Broadway Manager - Seasonal

THE ROLE:

Creative Goods Merchandise is currently seeking friendly, enthusiastic, responsible, and reliable individuals to work as a Merchandise Manager for an entertainment-based retail project in the Times Square area of NYC.

The Seasonal Merchandise Manager, a non-exempt, full-time position, is expected to manage all aspects of retail merchandise while being an ambassador for Creative Goods and the partner brands. The Merchandise Manager serves as the main point of contact for senior management, assistant managers, and sales associates, maintains clear lines of ongoing communication at all levels, and effectively manages the day-to-day operations efficiently and seamlessly. As manager, this position is expected to work all eight shifts of the show’s given schedule. The weekly days off will be the same as the show’s off days, unless given express permission for a specific occurrence. There may be potential to remain on staff as a part-time Sales Associate after Fall/Winter Season ends depending on business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for on-going communication and accurate dissemination of information between on-site operations and Creative Goods Corporate Staff.

· Planning, identifying, communicating, and delegating appropriate responsibilities and practices to staff to ensure smooth flow of operations.

· Creating an environment that facilitates customer’s needs and exceeds their expectations.

· Provides coaching and direction to the store team to act and to achieve operational goals.

  • Reporting and keeping all parties informed of client needs and requests, schedule and event updates, and pertinent details that affect day-to-day retail operations.
  • In collaboration with Creative Goods Corporate, identify, communicate, and delegate appropriate responsibilities to retail staff to ensure the smooth flow of daily operations.
  • Responsible for scheduling, adherence to local and state employment and wage laws, training staff, employee relations, and ensuring staff adheres to performance standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Coaches and mentors staff, leads by example, and supports a positive work environment.
  • Oversees visual merchandising, venue, and production relations, selling, ordering, receiving, and audits of inventory, daily reporting and weekly settlement, cash deposits, POS management, and on-site technical troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrates a “the customer comes first” philosophy through staff training and coaching while holding shift leads and sellers accountable for delivering excellent customer service and collegiality.
  • Accurate completion of weekly timecards and making sure all employees log in to ADP for timekeeping and scheduling.

· Receiving weekly shipments and processing inventory.

· Sending accurate Daily Numbers to the Corporate Office.

· Auditing cash handling at all registers.

· Preparing weekly deposits and deliver to designated location by established time and date.

· Using operational tools to plan and achieve operational excellence.

· Employ and demonstrate effective management principles and practices that creates a workplace where all employees are valued and respected.

Required Knowledge / Qualifications

Retail experience is preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Ability to drive sales through own actions and staff management.

Strong basic math skills.

Excellent communication skills.

Proficient organizational skills.

Effective logistical planner.

Pro-active problem solver.

Adaptable to change.

Self-motivated.

Working Conditions

The ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

The ability to stand for long periods of time.

The ability to bend/crouch regularly.

The ability to maneuver stairs.

The ability to work nights and weekends.

The ability to work holidays.

Must be able to work in various weather conditions, both extreme cold and heat, as we do not have total control over the environments our workplace is located.

Job Types: Full Time, Non-Exempt (eligible for Overtime), Seasonal

Compensation: $800-900 per week
