Lucille Lortel Theatre is seeking a Box Office Treasurer.
The Box Office Treasurer is responsible for all aspects of ticketing at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. The Treasurer will build shows in our ticketing software, correspond with the show's producers about ticketing and reports, and provide customer service to patrons at the box office window and via email.
Ticket Sales Management:
• Oversee and manage the sale of tickets to members, single-ticket buyers, and group patrons.
• Process online, and in-person ticket orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Set up and maintain ticketing software, ensuring events, pricing, and promotions are correctly configured.
• Monitor ticket inventory and sales trends, adjusting strategies to maximize revenue while adhering to house policies.
Membership Services:
• Manage membership ticketing benefits, including discounted or priority access to tickets and other member benefits.
• Assist members with ticket purchases, exchanges, and special requests.
• Ensure that membership-related benefits and ticketing policies are communicated clearly and upheld.
Financial Accountability:
• Reconcile daily box office receipts, including cash, credit card, and check transactions.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports for the Executive Director, Finance Director, and Board.
Customer Service:
• Provide exemplary service to patrons, addressing inquiries, complaints, and ticketing issues promptly.
• Train and supervise box office staff or volunteers to uphold high customer service standards.
• Handle VIP or high-profile patron requests discreetly and professionally.
Box Office Operations:
• Open and close the box office during performance days, ensuring all processes run smoothly.
• Coordinate with Front-of-House staff to ensure seamless entry and seating for patrons.
• Enforce theatre ticketing policies, including refund, exchange, and late seating protocols.
Marketing, Development and Promotions Support:
• Collaborate with the Marketing and Development Department to implement ticket promotions and member campaigns.
• Track and report on the success of promotions or discounts to inform future strategies.
Event Coordination:
• Ensure all performance dates, times, and pricing tiers are accurately reflected in ticketing systems.
• Coordinate with the Artistic and Management teams to accommodate special events, member previews, or talkbacks.
• Communicate event-specific information (e.g., age restrictions, runtime, accessibility) to patrons.
Compliance and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and secure records of patron transactions and contact information in compliance with privacy laws.
Patron Data Management:
• Maintain the ticketing database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date patron records.
• Provide patron data and sales insights to support fundraising and audience development efforts.
• Collaborate with the Development Department to track and acknowledge donor ticket purchases or event attendance.
Technical Skills and Training:
• Train box office staff on the use of ticketing software and best practices for customer service.
• Troubleshoot technical issues with ticketing systems, liaising with the software provider as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Act as a representative of the theatre’s mission and values when interacting with patrons and the public.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
• Box Office experience required.
• Previous experience in Audience View Unlimited preferred.
• Efficient time management and project management skills are crucial.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive communicator with excellent interpersonal and
multidisciplinary project skills.
• Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
• Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, and self-directed.
