Job Title: Box Office Associate

Reports to: Box Office Manager

Employment Type: Full Time (40h/week), remote


Role Summary

Drunk Shakespeare is seeking a full time Box Office Associate to support the integrity and execution of daily ticketing operations. This role maintains accurate listings, monitors inventory, processes adjustments, and ensures consistent patron communication.


The Associate executes established box office systems and escalates issues appropriately. This role supports, but does not define ticketing strategy.


Core Responsibilities

Daily Ticketing Execution

  • Monitor high-volume patron inboxes (general communication services, manual entries, disputes, lost items, voucher and comp inquiries)

  • Respond to patron emails promptly and professionally

  • Maintain accurate ticket listings across all platforms

  • Update pricing and availability as directed

  • Complete daily “check all” audits

  • Process cancellations, additions, and show adjustments

  • Correct ticketing errors in-house and with resellers

  • Maintain internal tracking sheets for imports, cancellations, comps, and corrections


Inventory Monitoring

  • Monitor capacity levels to prevent overselling

  • Update holds and allocations as instructed

  • Escalate inventory concerns to Box Office Manager

  • Conduct routine listing and pricing checks across platforms


Reseller Coordination

  • Maintain accurate show listings on reseller platforms

  • Coordinate cancellations or sell-out updates

  • Flag listing errors immediately

  • Escalate strategic pricing or allocation questions


Front of House Support

  • Communicate group reservations and holds clearly

  • Assist with resolving ticketing discrepancies

  • Support nightly ticket scanning and reporting processes


Qualifications:


  • Prior experience with ticketing systems is a plus.

  • Prior experience working remotely is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent familiarity with Google Sheets is preferred.

  • Data-Driven and Detail Oriented

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask under pressure.

  • Customer service experience, especially in live entertainment, hospitality, or events.

  • Familiarity with third-party ticket resellers is a plus (e.g., TodayTix, Groupon, etc).

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends



Schedule & Compensation:


  • Schedule: 40hrs per week, Friday through Tuesday. Wednesdays and Thursdays off.

  • Compensation: $20 per hour based on experience

Location
This role is remote, but we strongly prefer candidates based in NYC, DC, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, or Dallas.
