About Us
For over fourteen years, The Motor Company has been dedicated to making free theater that reaches audiences where they are, regardless of socioeconomic status or prior knowledge of the art form. We
believe that theater can and should be a catalyst for community building and engagement. We strive to erase the boundaries that keep so many people away from professional theater, and to energize the art form through dynamic public work that activates and reorients our relationship to our shared environments. Our vision is that all New Yorkers have access to new, engaging, professional theatrical works that are empowering, welcoming, surprising, and inclusive.
