Position: Associate and Assistant Production Managers

Location: Charleston, SC

Salary: $55,000+

Benefits: Health/Vision/Dental Insurance, 401-K with 3% employer contribution, and paid vacation.

Start Date: January 2026

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Production Manager and VP of Production, and in collaboration with the Production

Team, the Associate and Assistant Production Managers support and maintain all technical aspects of

our touring productions – pre-production, production periods, the tour, and closing period. This position

will require significant travel for technical rehearsals, crew coverage, and load-in assistance as

necessary.

Some aspects of this role include assisting in our warehouse, leading local crews with various duties, and

loading and unloading trucks upon arrivals and departures.

Primary Duties:

Support the Production Manager and Production Team on our current and upcoming productions.

Duties include but are not limited to:


Show Specific Duties:

Maintain production calendars and adhere to timelines.

Manage rehearsal and performance report requests.

Coordinate meetings with creative teams and maintain production deadlines.

Review show tech riders and flag conflicts.

Review tech specs for accurate information and touring venue anomalies.

Review tour routes for jump and venue studies.

Create technical specification summaries for touring venues.

Take notes for all production meetings.

Attend tech for assigned productions.

o Track and maintain local labor in collaboration with the Production Manager.

o Supervise Production Assistant.

o Manage receipts during tech rehearsal period.

o Support departments as needed.

o Purchase items as needed.

Coordinate FedEx shipments for touring productions as needed.

Manage load-in/load-out logistics for cast rehearsal periods.

Support deliveries, pickups, and general storage and organization at Charleston warehouse.

Assist Production Manager with additional tasks, as needed.

Qualifications:

● Experience in touring theater.

● Understanding of carpentry, rigging, automation, lighting, sound, props, costumes.

● Solution-oriented and comfortable in high-pressure situations.

● Familiarity with drafting software.

● Experience with Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Google Suite, AutoCAD, and Vectorworks preferred.

● Organized and detail oriented.

● Ability to remain flexible with moving deadlines.

● Open and available to significantly cover crew tracks on touring productions as needed.

Terms and Conditions:

Eligible to work in the United States.

Start date around January 2026.
