Founded in 1985, Teatro SEA (Society of the Educational Arts, Inc.) is the nation's leading bilingual children's theater, dedicated to celebrating Latiné heritage and promoting literacy through the performing arts. Based at The Clemente on New York City's Lower East Side, SEA produces original bilingual theater, arts-in-education residencies, and community festivals that reach thousands of children and families every year in New York, Puerto Rico, and across the Americas.

The Administrative Director is a critical leadership position at Teatro SEA, responsible for overseeing all operational, financial, and administrative functions of the organization. This individual ensures the effective and efficient management of Teatro SEA's daily operations.
Working closely with the CEO & Artistic Director and Executive Director, the Administrative Director manages, supervises administrative staff, and supports the organization's mission to serve children and families through bilingual arts education.
Prepare and monitor organizational budgets in collaboration with executive leadership and program directors.
Manage payroll processing and benefits administration for staff and teaching artists.
Coordinate and oversee all office activities and operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with organizational policies.
Supervise the Sales Associate, Programs Coordinator, and box office assistants; provide training, support, and performance evaluations.
Collaborate with the Production Manager to oversee scheduling and coordination of technical personnel and teaching artists.
Manage office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships.
Maintain personnel records, employee files, and organizational databases.
Oversee maintenance and operations of Teatro SEA's office, theater, rehearsal spaces, and storage areas at The Clemente.
Coordinate with building management and vendors for repairs, security, and facility needs.
Manage liquor license renewals and obtain city permits for special events as needed.
Coordinate with program staff to gather data, metrics, photos, and testimonials for grant proposals and reports.
Support individual donor cultivation and stewardship activities in collaboration with executive leadership.
Track grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of all financial and programmatic reports.
Provide executive support including calendar management, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination for senior leadership.
Prepare reports, presentations, and proposals for board meetings, funders, and stakeholders.
Represent Teatro SEA at community events and partner meetings as needed.
Support special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned by executive leadership.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Arts Administration, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Minimum 5 years of experience in nonprofit management, arts administration, or organizational operations.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, board members, and external partners.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
Familiarity with NYC Passport certification and procurement processes.
Familiarity with CRM software.
Knowledge of city permitting processes, liquor licensing, and event coordination.
Full-time position, on-site at Teatro SEA's headquarters at The Clemente.
Standard office hours with occasional evenings and weekends required for major performances, events, and festivals.
