Off-Broadway's 59E59 Theaters has revealed the lineup for its winter 2025-2026 programming, as well as the full year of programming from its resident Off Broadway theatre company Primary Stages.
The winter season will begin October 18, when PinProductions and María Teresa Uzal Rodríguez Producciones will present The Importance of Doing Art by Susannah Dalton. Running through November 23, the production will be directed by José Ignacio Vivero, and feature Billy Cosgrove, Mateo Parodi, Kaitlin Ruby, Maite Uzal, Diletta Guglielmi, and Jacopo Costantini.
Next up, Primary Stages will kick off its season November 1 with a production of Laowang: A Chinatown King Lear by Alex Lin. Running through December 14, the production will be directed by Joshua Kahan Brody. Simultaneously, from November 6–23 One Year Lease Theater will present Leon Ingulsrud and Brooke Shilling's Wake. Directed by Ianthe Demos, the production will feature movement direction by Natalie Lomonte.
From December 2-21, The Tank will present Everything is Here by Peggy Stafford. Directed by Meghan Finn, the piece will feature choreography by Lisa Fagan.
In the New Year, Happenstance Theater will present the devised piece JUXTAPOSE | A Theatrical Shadow Box. Running January 7–25, 2026, the piece is co-directed by Mark Jaster and Sabrina Mandell, with performers Gwen Grastorf, Mark Jaster, Sabrina Mandell, James Owens, and Sarah Olmsted Thomas. Simultaneously, New Jersey Repertory Company will present The Bookstore by Michael Walek. Running January 10-February 15, the production will be directed by William Carden and feature Quentin Chisolm, Ari Derambakhsh, Arielle Goldman, and Janet Zarish.
In February, Twilight Theatre Co. will present Brian Dykstra's Not Nobody. Running February 5-March 1, the production will be directed by Margarett Perry. Lastly, from February 28-April 12, Primary Stages will present CALF SCRAMBLE by Libby Carr.
Full casting and creative teams for the productions will be announced at a later date.
59E59 Theaters was established by the Elysabeth Kleinhans
Theatrical Foundation in 2004 to grant professional space and expertise
to non-profit theatre companies premiering their work in New York City.
Under the leadership of Artistic Director Val Day and Managing Director Brian Beirne, the venue presents year-round programming with
production, ticketing, front of house, marketing, and press support. All
participating theatre companies receive 80% or more of the ticket
revenue, and pay no weekly rent to 59E59.
