The highly anticipated revival of Will & Grace premieres on NBC September 28—11 years after the sitcom concluded its eighth (and seemingly final) season.
The series returns in its ninth season for a 16-episode order, with a tenth season already announced to follow. All previous seasons are now available to stream on Hulu and the NBC app, with the new episode to appear on the services shortly after broadcast.
Four Broadway alums lead the cast: Tony nominee Sean Hayes, Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, and Megan Mullally. Throughout the first eight seasons, the show offered several morsels for theatre-savvy viewers, including plot lines (Jack attempting to cut off Patti LuPone’s hair), guest stars (including Bernadette Peters as Karen’s sister Gin), and several name drops of musicals.
The new episodes will also celebrate a theatrical sensibility with an array of guest stars, including Ben Platt (in the season’s second episode) as a millennial love interest for Will.
