Andrew Rannells, who earned his second Tony nomination earlier this year for the Broadway revival of Falsettos, will guest star on the upcoming return of Will & Grace. Also on board, according to Out.com, is fellow Broadway alum and Glee favorite Jane Lynch.
The two join the previously reported Tony winner Ben Platt, as well as Tony nominees Harry Connick Jr. and Bobby Cannavale (both of whom appeared in the original series), in the assortment of stage names set to appear on the NBC sitcom.
Will & Grace, starring quartet of Broadway alums Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes, and Megan Mullally, returns to the small screen September 28.
Rannells earned his second Tony nomination for his performance as Whizzer in Falsettos; he was previously nominated for his breakout performance in The Book of Mormon. He also recently celebrated star turns in Broadway's Hamilton and Hedwig and the Angry Inch and will star opposite Don Cheadle in the upcoming Showtime series Ball Street.
Lynch made her Broadway debut in 2013 as Miss Hannigan in Annie. She won an Emmy in 2010 for her performance as Sue Sylvester on Glee. She has since won three additional Emmys: two for hosting Hollywood Game Night and another for the digital short series Dropping the Soap.
Filmed in 2023, the one-night-only event featured Brian Stokes Mitchell, Audra McDonald, Peter Friedman, and more from the Ahrens and Flaherty musical's original cast.
