Victoria Clark
Home Town: Dallas, TX
Zodiac Sign: Libra, rising sign is Virgo, so that means I’m an extra-picky Libra.
First thing in the morning: I weigh myself with my eyes closed, and then make a decaf/almond milk cappuccino.
The song I'm singing in the shower right now is: “Believe it or not, I’m walking on Air”—theme song from an 80s sitcom. Great tune, don’t ask me why it’s on my brain…never watched the show, I just like the song, or maybe it was playing in the Korean deli yesterday…
The show that changed my life was: The Light in the Piazza. Nuff said.
My dream roles would be: Any incredible role in an original American play or musical, Liza in Lady in the Dark, or Margaret in a major revival or international production of The Light in the Piazza.
One thing that keeps me up at night is: My husband’s snoring. Not really. It’s my dog’s farts. Another thing is the disrespect some of our political candidates have for the current President of the United States and his time in office.
I define success as: Self-mastery.
The best advice I've ever been given is: From my grandmother, taken from the book of Proverbs: “A gentle answer turneth away wrath.”
I like to celebrate by: Laughing, thanking whoever is responsible and gathering friends and family.
The five dream guests at my ideal dinner party would be: Michelle Obama, David Hyde Pierce, my husband, Moss Hart and Amelia Earhart. How’s that for stimulating conversation? I will serve a paleo menu and see who’s still talking to me at the end of the evening.
A skill I've yet to learn is: Baton twirling. (That’s a family joke.)
The Light in the Piazza 10th Anniversary Reunion Concert, starring Victoria Clark, Kelli O’Hara and Matthew Morrison, will be presented April 4, 2016, as a gala benefit for Lincoln Center Theater. Visit here for more information and to purchase tickets.
