Welcome to Campfire Immersive Danceplay Chalk Outline Portal Sets May Premiere
A documentary short from Emmy-winning theatre journalist Roberto Araujo tracks the devised work's creation.

Welcome to Campfire immersive danceplay Chalk Outline Portal will perform May 14-22 at Theaterlab in NYC. The devised work unfolds uniquely at each performance, integrating movement, real-time video, and live sound. The piece is choreographed and performed by Tony Bordonaro and Ingrid Kapteyn.
Welcome to Campfire has staged live and film productions all across the globe since 2017. Their films The Pigeon & The Mouse and Subject have been released for streaming on Broadway On Demand and the Emmys OTT platform, and their production of The Pigeon & The Mouse at The Space Theatre in London was a 2023 OFFIE Nominee.
Chalk Outline Portal brings another innovative twist to the stage with an interactive gaming element, as select audience members are invited to engage with the performance using video game controllers, influencing the trajectory of the performers in real time. The performance will feature sound by Marc Cardarelli and Lia Menaker, and live video by Roberto Araujo.
Araujo, an Emmy-winning theatre journalist, has also tracked the piece's creation and development at Welcome to Campfire's residency at The Mercury Store in summer 2025. You can stream the documentary short here.
