John Benjamin Hickey appeared on the May 3 broadcast of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen to talk about his theatre-related pet peeves. The Tony winner is directing the current Broadway revival of Neil Simon's Plaza Suite, starring two-time Tony winner Matthew Broderick and two-time Emmy winner Sarah Jessica Parker.
The production opened March 28 at Broadway's Hudson Theatre and is a three-act comedy which follows real-life couple Broderick and Parker playing three different twosomes each spending an evening in the famed Plaza Hotel.
During the show, Cohen asks Hickey about the hardest part of directing Broderick and Parker. "The hardest part is saying goodbye to them and letting them have the run. I miss them and I miss their performances," the director answered.
The stage and screen performer continued to answer a series of rapid fire questions from the host, as the segment played on. Watch the full clip above.
Plaza Suite features set design by Tony winner John Lee Beatty, costumes by Tony winner Jane Greenwood, lighting by Tony winner Brian MacDevitt, and sound design by Tony winner Scott Lehrer. The limited engagement runs until July 10 at the Hudson Theatre.
