DeAngelis' third annual celebration of his late mother raises funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The Janice Jam: Broadway for Breast Cancer is just one week away, so Playbill invited some special guests into the Playbill studio to discuss this important fundraising event.

Matt DeAngelis, along with his wife Christine Dwyer, the creators of The Janice Jam, are joined by guest performers Adrian Blake Enscoe, Brent Comer, and Benjamin Rauhala. Metastatic breast cancer thriver Tami Eagle Bowling also shares her powerful story of diagnosis and recovery.

The Janice Jam: Broadway for Breast Cancer takes place May 5 at Sony Hall. The evening will also feature the presentation of the first Fighting Flamingo Award to Smash star Krysta Rodriguez to celebrate her fight against the disease and work in helping to find a cure.

Videography is by Rico LeBron.

Founded by Broadway performer DeAngelis in memory of his mother Janice, who passed from metastatic breast cancer in 2022, this annual event serves as a celebration of Janice and her love for theatre while raising money for those affected by metastatic breast cancer.

The event is executive-produced by DeAngelis and Bryan Campione with Kim Blair, Ember Productions (Amber Coates, Maxwell Haddad, and Katie Michelle Stahl), Larkin Bogan, Tami Eagle Bowling, Katie Michelle Stahl, and PJ Adzima. Jen Ash is the production stage manager, and Alice M. Pollitt is assistant stage manager. Benjamin Rauhala is music directing.
