New York City Center, which celebrates its 75th anniversary season this year, ends its current Encores! lineup with High Button Shoes. The show, which runs May 8–12, features Michael Urie (Broadway’s recent Torch Song) as Harrison Floy, Tony nominee Kevin Chamberlin (The Addams Family, Seussical) as Mr. Pondue, and Betsy Wolfe (Waitress, Falsettos) as Sara Longstreet. The presentation is directed by John Rando and choreographed by Sarah O'Gelby, who remounted two highlights from the original production—"Bathing Beauty Ballet" and "I Still Get Jealous"—using Jerome Robbins' Tony-winning choreography.

The cast also includes Aidan Alberto, Jennifer Allen, Ward Billeisen, Sam Bolen, Colin Cunliffe, Nicholas Cunningham, Taeler Elyse Cyrus, Christine DiGiallonardo, Carla Duren, Michael Everett, Ta’Nika Gibson, Berklea Going, Chester Gregory, Marc A. Heitzman, Leah Horowitz, Mylinda Hull, Cajai Fellows Johnson, Marc Koeck, Matt Loehr, Robin Masella, Skye Mattox, Kaitlin Mesh, Justin Packard, Wayne Pretlow, Nathan Andrew Riley, Blakely Slaybaugh, George Slotin, Madison Stratton, and Shaun-Avery Williams.

With a score by July Styne and Sammy Cahn and a book by Stephen Longstreet, the musical follows two conmen who set out to swindle a New Brunswick family, inciting a chase down down the Jersey Shore. The musical premiered on Broadway in 1947 in a production directed by George Abbott.
