Jessica Kubzansky directs the Geffen staging of the work set to open Jan. 21 and run through Feb. 22. Based on dramatic events in the lives of three composers Frank Bridge, Anton Webern, and Olivier Messiaen, War Music links the trio together by war. The world premiere of the play was presented by the Playwright's Arena and Echo Theater Company at the Los Angeles Theatre Center in 2002. It garnered a number of awards including the Ovation for World Premiere Play, Ensemble Performance, and Lighting Design.

The cast of War Music features original cast members Nancy Bell (Polish Joke), Kevin Crowley, Tina Holmes, Jeremy Maxwell, John Prosky and Christopher Shaw joined by Victor Raider-Wexler (Gypsy).

The design team of War Music includes Susan Gratch (set), Elizabeth Palmer (costume), Michael Gilliam (lighting) and John Zalewski (sound). Amy Levinson Millán serves as dramaturg.
