Broadway's Beetlejuice has partnered with voter registration organization HeadCount to bring one fan and a friend on a trip to the Netherworld.
The effort to raise voter registration and civic awareness will result in the winner getting a trip to New York City, along with two tickets to the show, a virtual meet and greet with cast members, merchandise, an autographed item, and a stay at the Beetlesuite at the Marriott Marquis.
Along with entering the contest, fans can check their registration and register to vote through the nonpartisan nonprofit's website. The contest is part of HeadCount's Good to Vote campaign which works to motivate younger voters to participate in the election process.
Members of the cast took to Instagram to encourage fans to participate.
Broadway's Beetlejuice will become one of the dearly departed as it will play its final performance at the Marquis Theatre January 8, 2023. It debuted on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre March 28, 2019 where it opened April 25 for an engagement that earned eight Tony nominations. Following the COVID-19 shutdown, it returned to Broadway via the Marquis Theatre with Tony nominee Alex Brightman reprising the role of the titular poltergeist opposite newcomer Elizabeth Teeter (The Crucible, The Audience) as Lydia Deetz.
Based on Tim Burton’s cult favorite film, Beetlejuice tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a demon with a thing for stripes. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter unleashes a (nether)world of pandemonium.
Alex Timbers directs the musical, which features an original score by Tony nominee Eddie Perfect, and a book by Tony nominees Scott Brown and Anthony King. Music supervision, orchestrations and incidental music are by Kris Kukul, and choreography is by Connor Gallagher.
