SIX: The Musical, Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss’ Tony-nominated international hit, became the longest-running show to play the Lena Horne Theatre (formerly the Brooks Atkinson) June 27 when it offered its 1,545th performance.

Six surpassed the original Broadway production of Waitress, which previously held the title with 1,544 performances when it closed January 5, 2020.

In the video below, watch current Six cast member Gianna Yanelli give a curtain call speech marking the occasion.

First named in honor of actor Richard Mansfield, the theatre originally opened February 15, 1926. In 1960, it was rechristened the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in tribute to the New York Times dance critic. It was renamed the Lena Horne Theatre November 1, 2022, the first Broadway theatre to be named in honor of a Black woman.

The Broadway cast currently features Najah Hetsberger as Catherine of Aragon, Yanelli as Anne Boleyn, Kelsie Watts as Jane Seymour, Krystal Hernandez as Anna of Cleves, Kay Sibal as Katherine Howard, and Taylor Marie Daniel as Catherine Parr. The company also includes Aryn Bohannon, Sierra Fermin, Jana Larell Glover, and Jenny Mollet as Alternates.

Six—about the six wives of Henry VIII—celebrated its official Broadway opening night October 3, 2021. Tickets are currently available through January 18, 2026.

Marlow and Moss’ musical is co-directed by Moss and Jamie Armitage and features choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, scenic design by Emma Bailey, costume design by Gabriella Slade, lighting design by Tim Deiling, and sound design by Paul Gatehouse.

The score features orchestrations by Tom Curran with music supervision and vocal arrangements by Joe Beighton and U.S. music supervision by Roberta Duchak. Casting is by Tara Rubin Casting's Peter Van Dam.

Theater Matters is general manager, Sam Levy is associate producer, and Lucas McMahon is U.S. executive producer.

Six won the 2022 Tony for Best Original Score (music and lyrics) and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical. The West End production continues at the Vaudeville Theatre in London.
