The three-time Tony nominee stars in the limited series opposite Jude Law and Jason Bateman.

Robin de Jesús may be playing a chef on the Netflix series Black Rabbit, but behind the camera, he was nerding out with Laura Linney (who directed some episodes of the series) about the musical Pippin

"We went from shooting this thriller...to while the lights are being switched and the crew is doing their thing, we're playing the finale and deciding what our version of Pippin would be. And is this really a musical about suicide?" de Jesús tells Playbill.

In the three-time Tony nominee's latest project, Black Rabbit, he plays a chef named Tony who works in a trendy New York restaurant, run by two brothers played by Jude Law and Jason Bateman. In the interview above with Playbill's Jeffrey Vizcaíno, de Jesús discusses taking cooking classes, doing a chemistry read with Bateman, and his favorite NYC restaurants (you might want to write that part down).

All eight episodes of Black Rabbit, which is a limited series, are available to watch on Netflix now.

The series is created and executive produced by Zach Baylin and Kate Susman for Youngblood Pictures. Executive producers include Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan for Aggregate Films; Jude Law and Ben Jackson for Riff Raff Entertainment; Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Justin Levy for Range; and Andrew Hinderaker, Zac Frognowski, David Bernon, and Erica Kay.
