Jordan Fisher got his current gig, playing Christian in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway, via a Facebook call. His longtime friend, Solea Pfeiffer, currently playing Satine, called him with an offer he couldn't refuse.
"Pfeiffer FaceTimed me, and was like, 'Our buddy, John [Cardoza]'s leaving. I'm working until this date. Do you want to come do it with me?' And I said, 'Yeah, 100 percent!' The pitch was very easy. I mean, the show's a blast. The people are lovely. The songs are a blast to sing. And I get to work with one of my best friends. We met when she had just graduated and did West Side Story at the Hollywood Bowl."
Since then, the two have also played opposite each other in Hadestown on Broadway. In the video above with Playbill's Jeffrey Vizcaíno, see Fisher talk about the Wicked-ly delightful role he'd love to do next, and play a game of song association. Fisher is in Moulin Rouge! until July 20.
The Broadway company also features Austin Durant as Harold Zidler, Andy Karl as The Duke of Monroth, Samantha Dodemaide as Nini, Pepe Muñoz as Santiago, and André Ward as Toulouse-Lautrec. Hailee Kaleem Wright is the Satine Alternate.
