The revitalized production will launch from Baltimore's Hippodrome Theatre in 2025.

It will be almost a full year wait for The Phantom of the Opera's U.S. return—a new North American tour is set to launch from Baltimore, Maryland, in November 2025—but a new trailer is offering a first look at what to expect. The upcoming staging will mark the U.S. premiere of a revision of the musical's original production that has been playing in London's West End since 2021. Watch the trailer, featuring that 2021 London cast, above.

Casting and a full itinerary for the upcoming tour will be announced at a later date.

Seth Sklar-Heyn is directing both the London run at His Majesty's Theatre and the forthcoming tour, based on the celebrated original direction by Harold Prince with choreography by Gillian Lynne, recreated and adapted by Chrissie Cartwright. The staging also features production design by Maria Björnson.

The Phantom of the Opera has music by Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart, additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe, and a book by Stilgoe and Lloyd Webber, based on the novel Le Fantôme de l’Opera by Gaston Leroux.

The musical also has orchestrations by David Cullen and Lloyd Webber, music supervision by Simon Lee, set design adapted by Matt Kinley with associate costume design by Jill Parker, lighting by Andrew Bridge, associate lighting design by Warren Letton, and sound by Mick Potter.

Originally produced by Mackintosh and The Really Useful Group, the world premiere production opened in 1986 at its current London home, known as the Her Majesty's Theatre at the time. A subsequent Broadway transfer opened in 1988, and received seven Tony Awards including Best Musical. The Broadway bow closed in April 2023 and remains the longest-running Broadway show in history.
