The stage adaptation of Joe Simpson’s best-selling memoir Touching the Void, which premiered at the Bristol Old Vic last September, will transfer to the West End. Previews will begin November 9 at the Duke of York's Theatre ahead of a November 14 opening night.

Simpson’s climbing partner, Simon Yates, is faced with the decision to cut the rope that binds them together after he is unable to recover Simpson from the void.

Tom Morris (War Horse, Swallows & Amazons) directs the adaptation by David Grieg (The Events, The Suppliant Women, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). The creative team includes production designer Ti Green, sound designer and composer Jon Nicholls, lighting designer Chris Davey, movement director Sasha Milavic Davies, and casting director Jill Green CDG.
