Based on the book of the same name by Garth Risk Hallberg, the new crime thriller series City on Fire looks into the murder of an NYU student in Central Park who somehow is the connection between a series of mysterious citywide fires, the downtown music scene, and a wealthy uptown real estate family. From the producers of Gossip Girl and The O.C., the series stars Wyatt Oleff and Chase Sui Wonders. And catch a few glimpses of Tony winner John Cameron Mitchell in the trailer below. The first three episodes premiere May 12.

The Muppets house band, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, are at the center of a brand new musical comedy series. Featuring Dr. Teeth on vocals and keyboards, Animal on drums, Floyd Pepper on vocals and bass, Janice on vocals and lead guitar, Zoot on saxophone and Lips on trumpet, the beloved old-school rock band sets out to record their first-ever studio album amid today's music scene. The Muppets Mayhem premieres May 10.

Gene Luen Yang’s graphic novel American Born Chinese comes to life for the small screen in a new Disney+ series from writer and showrunner Kelvin Yu. The coming-of-age story centers on ordinary teen Jin Wang (played by Ben Wang) who is just trying to survive high school when he gets caught in a battle of Chinese mythological gods. Everything Everywhere All at Once Oscar winners Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan reunite for mystical action, with their Oscar nominated co-star Stephanie Hsu (Be More Chill, SpongeBob SquarePants) guest starring. Stream the eight-episode series beginning May 24.

The Netflix Bridgerton universe expands with the prequel Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Set in the Georgian era just prior to Bridgerton’s Regency era, the six-episode series concentrates on the young queen’s marriage to King George of England, her rise to power, and her burgeoning friendship with Lady Danbury. Golda Rosheuvel and Adjoa Andoh return to their roles as Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury, respectively, with India Ria Amarteifio and Arsema Thomas starring as their younger counterparts. Expect just as much drama, romance, gossip, and scandal that you’ve come to expect from Bridgerton…and from creator Shonda Rhimes. Begin streaming May 4.
