The New York premiere of The National Theatre of Scotland’s The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart extends for a third and final time at the The McKittrick Hotel. The immersive and music-filled folk tale, which transports its audience to Scotland, was originally scheduled to close January 29. Due to high ticket demand, it is now playing through April 23.

The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart is created by writer David Greig (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and director Wils Wilson. The show began November 16, and officially opened to positive reviews December 13.

Performances take place in The Heath, the Hotel’s bar and music venue, which is transformed into a Scottish Pub for the Off-Broadway engagement. The current cast is made up of Muireann Bird, George Drennan, Peter Hannah, Jessica Hardwick, and Owen Whitelaw.

Featuring live music, The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart unfolds among and around its audience, weaving a lyrical and enchanting story. The show features design by Georgia McGuinness, movement by Janice Parker, and musical direction by Alasdair Macrae.
