Broadway News The Muppets Are Finally Coming to Broadway—With Magic!

Kermit the Frog and some of his friends will be special guests to magician extraordinaire Rob Lake this holiday at the Broadhurst.

The Muppets are finally coming to Broadway—but not by themselves. Magician Rob Lake will play a holiday run at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre beginning October 28 and opening November 6—and he's invited the furry puppet gang to join him as his special guests. The limited run will continue through January 18, 2026.

The Muppets have previously starred in stage shows at Disney theme parks, though a Broadway debut has proved elusive. A project was reportedly in the works for them to star in their own show led by Tony-winning director Alex Timbers as far back as 2013, though that show never materialized. Lake is not yet revealing which Muppets audiences can expect to see in the upcoming Broadway show, other than Kermit the Frog and "some of his friends."

Lake made a splash on TV's America's Got Talent in 2018, and has since toured the world with his magic act, and served as creative consultant and illusion designer for Adele's Las Vegas residency. On Broadway, Lake also helped design illusions for Death Becomes Her. In 2008, Lake was the youngest magician in history to win the much coveted Merlin Award as International Stage Magician of the Year.

"I've been performing magic my entire life, and it has always been my greatest dream to perform my show on Broadway," says Lake in a statement. "Like so many people around the world, I grew up with The Muppets. To work with them and create new illusions for them to appear in my show has been the most rewarding and surprisingly familiar moment. It’s like I have known them my entire life."

Also working on the show are creative consultant Bethany Pettigrew and script consultant Kevin Zak (Ginger Twinsies). Rob Lake Productions, Joe Quenqua, and Glass Half Full Productions are producing, with Wagner Johnson Productions serving as executive producers. More creative team members are to be announced.

“After years of touring the world, we are so excited that Broadway audiences will finally get to marvel at the exceptional talents of Rob Lake," say producers Quenqua and Glass Half Full's Gareth Lake. "Pairing his mind-blowing illusions with The Muppets and their singular classic humor is truly a dream come true—for all of us!”

Tickets go on sale September 4 at RobLakeBroadway.com.
