The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is accepting applications for its 2025 Cabaret Fellows program, which invites vocalists to the Connecticut institution for 10 days of classes and coachings. Applications will be accepted through March 13 at 11:59 PM PT here.
This year's program will be held July 16-26, with tuition at $3,500. Selected vocalists will receive six daily hours of classes, performance opportunities, tickets to evening mainstage shows, housing, and meals for the duration of the program. Applicants can also apply for needs-based scholarships via the application form.
Classes will cover stage presence, song selection, ear training, mic technique, harmony, group dynamics, and more, with a faculty list that is set to include Natalie Douglas, Lennie Watts, Tracy Stark, Jon Weber, Eden Espinosa, John Lloyd Young, Betty Buckley, Barb Jungr, Latrice Royale, Karen Akers, and Steve Ross.
The program is helmed by Grammy and Emmy Award winner John McDaniel.
“Our Fellows program is second to none!," says McDaniel in a statement. "Performers apply each year for a chance to join us at our seaside retreat to hone their performance skills among a group of world class artist teachers and music directors. It’s an intense, supercharged, and supportive course of study. While we set our sights on creating a unique, professional performance during the festival, there are also various other performance opportunities in classes, workshops, open mics, and more!”
