The songs of pop singer-songwriter Sting, whose musical The Last Ship ran on Broadway during the 2014–15 season, will be heard on stage in New York City again January 16, 2018, when performers Barb Jungr and John McDaniel reunite for a single performance of their cabaret show Float Like a Butterfly—The Music of Sting, at Feinstein’s/54 Below.
The show—which premiered at Joe’s Pub in Manhattan in June—includes Sting hits “Fields of Gold,” “Message in a Bottle,” “Every Little Thing,” and “Englishman in New York.”
The Grammy- and Emmy Award-winning McDaniel has served as musical director, arranger, orchestrator, and/or conductor on various Broadway shows including Bonnie & Clyde, Catch Me If You Can, Brooklyn, Taboo, the 1993 revival of Company and the 1994 revival of Grease.
McDaniel and Jungr appeared previously at Feinstein’s/54 Below in 2016 in a concert of music by The Beatles. That concert, Come Together, was recorded and released in October 2016, and was celebrated in a January concert at Don’t Tell Mama, also in New York City.
