The original studio cast recording of Band Geeks has been released digitally today through Yellow Sound Label and Brainstorm Records. Several members from the original cast of Goodspeed Musicals’ 2010 world-premiere production reunited for the recording, including Lindsay Mendez, Ruthie Ann Miles, Patti Murin, and more.

The musical, which has become a cult favorite and popular licensing title for high school theatre, follows a high school marching band, the Marching Beavers, on the brink of extinction. Elliott, the tuba-playing band captain and his best friend Laura have to find a way to embrace their inner geek and save the Marching Beavers. 

Band Geeks features a score by Gaby Alter, Tommy Newman, and Mark Allen, and a book by Newman and Gordon Greenberg, based on a concept by Newman. The recording is produced by Michael Croiter and Gaby Alter. 

The studio album includes all 19 songs from the original musical, plus two bonus tracks. The featured performers are  Lindsay Mendez (Merrily We Roll Along), Jared Gertner (The Book of Mormon), Ruthie Ann Miles (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street), Douglas Lyons (Parade), Patti Murin (Frozen), Alex Gemignani (Carousel), Jill Abramovitz (Beetlejuice), F. Michael Haynie (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Jacey Powers, Jason Michael Snow, Mike Millan, and Matt Braver. Natalie Savage and Jesse Graham Galas have also provided vocals for the bonus tracks. Gillian Berkowitz serves as music director.
