Abingdon Theatre Company will continue its popular Broadway on the Bowery series with three new events at Duane Park. The performances bring together two of NYC's most recognizable thoroughfares, lying a very short distance apart but epitomizing the divide between uptown and downtown.
Up first is An Evening with Teal Wicks February 21 at 8:30 PM. Known for her performances in The Cher Show, Finding Neverland, and Wicked, the Broadway alum will perform an array of songs with a downtown twist, all performed with the Bowery Quartet under the musical direction of Nick Wilders.
This will be followed by an evening of music from the based-on-a-true-story It Happened in Key West by Jill Santoriello, Jason Huza, and Jeremiah James. The concert is set for March 7 at 7 PM, with casting to be announced.
As part of Abingdon’s mission to support emerging artists, the Off-Broadway company’s final event of the spring will be Brave, Bold and Beyond, a showcase of up-and-coming musical talents, including composers, songwriters and singers. More details will be revealed later.
Abingdon Artistic Director Chad Austin will direct all three events. For more information, click here.
