David Herskovits directed the Target Margin Theater production, which began performances Jan. 14 and officially opened Jan. 18. Originally workshopped by Elia Kazan at the Actors Studio in 1948, 10 Blocks on the Camino Real is described as a "dreamlike meditation on alienation, beauty and death."
The cast features Purva Bedi (CSC's Old Comedy), Satya Bhabha (King of Shadows), Curt Hostetter (Hamlet), McKenna Kerrigan, Dara Seitzman (Iron Curtain) and Raphael Nash Thompson (Edward the Second).
Designing the production were Lenore Doxsee (set and lighting), Asta Bennie Hostetter (costumes) and Jim "Sneaky" Breitmeier (sound) with musical direction by David Rosenmeyer.
