The revival of Neil Simon, Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields’ musical Sweet Charity is set to kick off The New Group's 2016-17 season. It will feature direction by Leigh Silverman and choreography by Joshua Bergasse.
Foster will star as Charity Hope Valentine (the part originated on Broadway by Gwen Verdon), the unlucky-in-love dance-hall hostess, along with Yesenia Ayala (Ensemble), Darius Barnes (Ensemble), James Brown III (Ensemble), Lori Ann Ferreri (Swing), Asmeret Ghebremichael (Nickie), Shuler Hensley (Oscar), Sasha Hutchings (Rosie / Ensemble), Donald Jones, Jr. (Ensemble), Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Ursula / Ensemble), Emily Padgett (Helene), Joel Perez (Herman / Vittorio / Daddy Brubeck) and Ryan Worsing (Swing).
Previews are set to begin November 2 prior to an official opening November 20 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).
