Tony nominee Susan Egan, who voiced the role of Meg in the Hercules animated film, will join the curtain call of the London stage production of Disney's Hercules October 31 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
Egan (Tony-nominated for her performance as Belle in the original Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast) will join the West End company at curtain call to lead a Disney villain medley.
In a statement Egan said, “When Herc comes calling, what’s a Meg to do?! I’m thrilled to be coming to London to join the cast of Hercules for a very special third act this Halloween! That’s Hades’ big day, after all, and I hold no grudges. This brilliant story holds a very special place in my heart, so it’s truly wonderful to celebrate its new life at Theatre Royal Drury Lane—and even make my debut on that iconic stage!”

The performance will be part of a Halloween celebration at the London theatre. For one night only, Hades takes over Theatre Royal Drury Lane’s front of house with a trail of music, mayhem, and photo opportunities before curtain-up. Audiences are also invited to come dressed in their best spooky seasonal looks or costumes—extra kudos for being Disney villain-inspired.
The London cast features Luke Brady as Hercules, plus Candace Furbert as Thalia, Sharlene Hector as Clio, Brianna Ogunbawo as Melpomene, Malinda Parris as Calliope, Robyn Rose-Li as Terpsichore, Mae Ann Jorolan as Meg, Trevor Dion Nicholas as Phil, Stephen Carlile as Hades, and Craig Gallivan and Lee Zarrett in the roles of Bob and Charles.
Adapted from Disney's 1997 animated film, Hercules has
played several earlier runs, premiering in 2019 via the Public Theater's
Free Shakespeare in the Park Series and playing New Jersey's Paper Mill
Playhouse in 2023. A new production, with Tony winner Nicholaw taking
over as director and choreographer, premiered in Hamburg, and that
staging is the basis for the West End bow. Nicholaw is joined by
co-choreographer Tanisha Scott, also reprising her work from the German
production.
The musical has music by Alan Menken and lyrics by David Zippel,
including their songs from the original film and several new tunes
written for the stage musical. The book is by Robert Horn and Kwame
Kwei-Armah, based on the Disney film written by Ron Clements, John
Musker, Donald McEnery, Bob Shaw, and Irene Mecchi and directed by
Clements and Musker.
The West End creative team also includes scenic and additional video
designer Dane Laffrey, costume designers Gregg Barnes and Sky Switser,
lighting designer Jeff Croiter, sound designer Adam Fisher, video
designer George Reeve, hair and wig designer Mia M. Neal, make-up
designer Kirk Cambridge-Del Pesche, and special effects designer Jeremy
Chernick.
Michael Kosarin is penning arrangements and serving as music supervisor, with Danny Troob and Joseph Joubert providing orchestrations. Dance arrangements are by David Chase.
Telling the story of the muscle-bound half-god Hercules of Greek mythology, Hercules features such Disney favorites as "Go the Distance," “Zero to Hero,” and “I Won’t Say (I’m in Love)."
