Tony winner Sophie Okonedo, seen on Broadway last year in the Ivo van Hove-helmed The Crucible, has been cast in the upcoming Hellboy film, according to Deadline. The third installment of the movie franchise is set to star David Harbour as Hellboy and Milla Jovovich as the Blood Queen.
Hellboy will be directed by Neil Marshall and is produced by Lionsgate/Millennium Films. The upcoming film completes the trilogy originally helmed by Guillermo del Toro, starring Ron Perlman. The story is based on the original Dark Horse comics created by Mike Mignola.
Hellboy will also feature Brian Gleeson, Alistair Petrie, Ian McShane, Daniel Dae Kim, and Penelope Mitchell.
Okonedo is a Tony winner for her role in the 2014 production of A Raisin in the Sun. Her screen credits include Hotel Rwanda, for which she earned an Oscar nomination, and a starring role in the BBC series Undercover. She was recently seen in the West End in Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?
