Get ready to make some noise! Troy Anthony is kicking off Playbill's Songwriter Series. Presented by City National Bank, the series is dedicated to spotlighting emerging composers and will consist of a new video every month.

Anthony visited Playbill to perform select tracks from his show The Revival: It Is Our Duty. Featured songs include "Send A Revival," "Assata Chant," "Altar Call," and "Celebrate You." He is accompanied by The Fire Ensemble vocalists Alysha Deslorieux, STONES, and Josh Walker; and Anthony on our Playbill piano, provided by the nonprofit Sing for Hope.

"I wrote this piece because we were coming out of a pandemic, and I was trying to think of, like, 'what is the one thing that I know about, like one process that I know about that could take me from feeling really low to feeling great again,' and I thought of the revivals that I grew up going to in the South," the composer-lyricist shared about his show.

The three vocalists join with experience on stage and screen. Deslorieux starred in the world premiere of The Visitor at the Public Theater, the revival cast of Once on This Island, and and was part of the original company of Hamilton. Her screen credits include Only Murders in the BuildingThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Younger

Walker is a NJ/NY-based singer, actor, and composer who wants to dedicate his performance to all the Black kids out there with a dream.
