Signature Theatre presents a talkback with Ted Chapin, author of Everything Was Possible: The Birth of the Musical Follies, December 16 from 5 PM-6 PM in Arlington, Virginia. The event will also stream live on Signature's YouTube Channel.

Signature Director of Artistic Development Anika Chapin (and the author's daughter) hosts the conversation about the 2003 tome.

Chapin, who would later serve a lengthy stint as the president of the Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization, was a gofer when Follies—from composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim, director Harold Prince, choreographer Michael Bennett, and librettist James Goldman—played a Boston tryout and then opened at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre in 1971.

Chapin kept a diary of the experience for college credit, and three decades later he drew on that experience for Everything Was Possible, which features a foreword by former New York Times theatre critic Frank Rich.

The free event will be live streamed at this link; those watching online will be able to send in questions via the chat.
