Casting is now complete for Roundabout Theatre Company's upcoming revival of Samm-Art Williams' Home.
As previously announced, Tony winner Kenny Leon will direct the drama, which will begin previews at Broadway's Todd Haimes Theatre May 17. Opening night is set for June 5 for a limited engagement through July 21.
The cast will feature Tory Kittles (The Equalizer, True Detective) as Cephus Miles, Brittany Inge (Lethal Legacy, Boomerang) as Woman One/Pattie Mae Wells, and Stori Ayers (Blood at the Root) as Woman Two. All will be making their Roundabout debuts.
The production will also have set design by Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design by Dede Ayite, lighting design by Allen Lee Hughes, and sound design by Justin Ellington.
A selection of Roundabout’s Refocus Project, the coming-of-age story
was originally staged by the Negro Ensemble Company in 1979 and
transferred to Broadway the following year. The play follows Cephus
Miles, a Black southern farmer who is jailed for his opposition to the
Vietnam War, then moves north, only to find even more difficulties away
from his North Carolina home.
