Songbook Sundays, the concert series created and hosted by Deborah Grace Winer to celebrate the American Songbook, will continue at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Dizzy’s Club February 8 with an evening devoted to the lyrics of Dorothy Fields.

Entitled On the Sunny Side of Dorothy Fields, show times are 5 PM and 7:30 PM. The concerts will feature the talents of La Tanya Hall, Margo Seibert, and Luz Velasquez.

The vocalists will be backed by a band led by music director Ted Rosenthal and featuring Martin Wind on bass, Tim Horner on drums, and Sam Dillon on tenor saxophone.

Attendees can expect to hear Fields’ standards written with Jerome Kern, Jimmy McHugh, and Cy Coleman, including "I Can’t Give You Anything But Love," "Big Spender," "Pick Yourself Up," "The Way You Look Tonight," and more.

Winer said in a statement, “We’re beginning our fifth year of Songbook Sundays, and we are filled with gratitude that the series has surpassed our wildest dreams. Every other month, we gather a warm community of audience and performers at Dizzy’s Club to celebrate spectacular music. Along with the joy and fun, no matter where you wander in from, it always feels like home.”

Tickets for Songbook Sundays are $50, with student tickets available at $25. There is a $21 food/drink minimum. Visit Jazz.org/Dizzys.
