Additional casting has been announced for the West End production of The Time Traveller’s Wife: The Musical, which will begin previews October 7 at the Apollo Theatre prior to an official opening November 1.
As previously reported, David Hunter and Joanna Woodward will reprise the roles of Henry and Clare, respectively, that they played at Chester's Storyhouse in 2022. They will be joined by Tim Mahendran as Gomez, Hiba Elchikhe as Charisse, and Ross Dawes as Henry’s Dad; all three were also seen in these roles in Chester. Additional casting will be announced.
Based on the novel by Audrey Niffenegger and the New Line Cinema film screenplay by Bruce Joel Rubin, The Time Traveller's Wife: The Musical has a book by Lauren Gunderson, original music and lyrics by Joss Stone and Dave Stewart, additional music by Nick Finlow, and additional lyrics by Kait Kerrigan.
The work centers on a love story between Henry and Clare, one experienced out of order thanks to Henry's rare condition, which sees him pulled into the past or the future with no warning when his genetic clock periodically resets.
The production, which will again be directed by Bill Buckhurst, will also have designs by Anna Fleischle, choreography by Shelley Maxwell, lighting design by Lucy Carter and Rory Beaton, illusions by Chris Fisher, video design by Andrzej Goulding, sound design by Richard Brooker, sound FX design by Pete Malkin, musical supervision and arrangement by Nick Finlow, orchestrations by Malcolm Edmonstone, wigs, hair, and makeup design by Susanna Peretz, and casting by Grindrod Burton Casting.
The musical will be produced by Colin Ingram, InTheatre Productions, Gavin Kalin Productions, Teresa Tsai, and Crossroads Live, by special arrangement with Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures.
