Honoring Black Women in Music! II, inspired by Black artists who have pushed the boundaries of the music industry, will play 54 Below August 28 at 9:30 PM.
The evening will feature the talents of Katelyn Bowman (The Color Purple), LaDonna Burns (White Girl in Danger), Kyrie Courter (Sweeney Todd), Keisha Gilles (Aladdin), Olivia Griffin (How to Break), Karissa Harris (Sister Act), Ashley Jossell (Chasing Grace), Lexi Lawson (Hamilton), Zachary A. Myers (A Strange Loop), Sarita Amani Nash (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Nattalyee Randall (Rocktopia), Alicia Thomas (Dreamgirls), Anita Welch (Aida), and Alyssa Wray (American Idol).
Dev Bondarin will direct with musical direction by Rashad McPherson.
Attendees can expect to hear songs made famous by Eartha Kitt, Whitney Houston, TLC, Aretha Franklin, and more. Honoring Black Women in Music! is designed to "commemorate, uplift, and celebrate Black excellence."
